Proposed form Not a report of established or tested use.

Occasion
After a death, if the words are welcome

Someone is missing.

Nothing said in this room can make that small.

Let the missing be described plainly.

Let it not be improved.

A name may be spoken.

A difficult memory may remain difficult.

We do not need to finish loving, or finish grieving, here.

We can keep a little company with what cannot be repaired.

Offer these words rather than reading them to someone uninvited. A person may decline, stop midway, or prefer their own tradition’s words. Quiet afterward is optional; it need not be long to be sincere.
